The Eaton Fire and subsequent atmospheric river rains severely devastated the Mount Wilson Trail and Bailey Canyon Trail. While the MWT is now open to the public, work is continuing. Bailey Canyon Trail continues to be closed because the condition continues to be very dangerous. There is significant trail damage and a lot of repair work to be done. Both trails require significant reconstruction and redesign, requiring more supplies and equipment than in the past. While the work is done by the All Volunteer Trail Maintenance Crew, the supplies & equipment must be paid for with community tax-deductible donations to the Fletcher Trail Maintenance Fund. Neither the City of Sierra Madre nor the US Forest Service provides any funds for supplies or labor.
