MOUNT WILSON TRAIL RACE & REGISTRATION INFORMATION


Race Day – Saturday, May 23, 2020

Start Time – 7:30 a.m.

Race Starts and Ends  – Kersting Court, Sierra Madre, CA

(corner of Sierra Madre Blvd. and Baldwin Avenue)


Cost and Registration for the Mount Wilson Trail Race 2020


Adult (ages 18 and above) - $70

Youth (ages 14 – 17 only) - $38

All paid entries receive a t-shirt and goodie bag.


The total number of participants for the Mount Wilson Trail Race (MWTR) is limited to 350.  The first 100 spaces for the MWTR will be made available to Sierra Madre residents only, leaving 250 spaces available for general registration. 


For both registrations, an account with the City of Sierra Madre MUST be set up prior to registration.   If you do not already have one, please visit the following website to create one:      https://apm.activecommunities.com/sierramadre.  If you already have an account, please double check that the information is current.  Acceptable forms of payment are cash, check-made payable to the City of Sierra Madre, and credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover).

Sierra Made Residents Only Registration – Saturday, March 7, 2020, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.


Sierra Madre Residents Only Registration will be at The Hart Park House, located at 222 W. Sierra Madre Blvd. in Sierra Madre.  Registration will take place on a first come, first served basis and there are only 100 spaces available.  Proof of residency is required in the form of presenting a current CA Driver’s License or CA Identification Card indicating a Sierra Madre address (no PO Box numbers or copies allowed).


Participants may only sign up for themselves.  Signing up for a family member or a friend is not allowed.  Youth (ages 14 – 17 only) registering for the MWTR who do not have a valid CA Driver’s License or CA Identification Card may provide an alternative photo ID with Sierra Madre address or a parent/guardian can show their CA driver’s license with a Sierra Madre address.


General Registration – Begins Monday, March 9, 2020, at 8:00 a.m.


General Registration will begin Monday, March 9, 2020, at 8:00 a.m.  Registration can be done online at https://apm.activecommunities.com/sierramadre, or in person at Sierra Madre City Hall, 232 W. Sierra Madre Blvd. in Sierra Madre. 


It is strongly encouraged to sign up as soon as registration is available on Monday, March 9, 2020, as the MWTR is expected to sell out within the first few hours.

Waitlist


In the event that you do not obtain one of the 350 MWTR registration spaces, your name will be added to the MWTR Waitlist.  As spaces become available, persons on the Waitlist will be contacted based on the order in which individuals were added.  Although we cannot guarantee a certain number of cancellations, each year there are cancellations.  Waitlisted runners are contacted up to the week prior to the event.  If you are interested in running, but are on the Waitlist, we encourage you to keep training. 


Mount Wilson Trail Race – Kids’ Fun Run – Saturday, May 23, 2020


The Kids’ Fun Run (ages 13 and under) is on Saturday, May 23, 2020 and begins at approximately 7:45 a.m. (immediately following the start of the MWTR) in Kersting Court in Sierra Madre.  For more information about the event, please visit www.mountwilsontrailrace.com.


Refunds and Cancellations


In the event that you must withdraw from the race, please contact the City of Sierra Madre Community Services Department at (626) 355-5278 or via email to Lawren Heinz at lheinz@cityofsierramadre.com or Clarissa Lowe at clowe@cityofsierramadre.com.  A refund will be issued, less the $11 cancellation fee, in the form of credit to the patron’s account with the City of Sierra Madre.  The credit will remain on the patron’s account for one year from the date issued and the credit may be used for any program or service offered by the City of Sierra Madre Community Services Department. 


Notification of the cancellation must be made at least three (3) days before the day of the MWTR.  However, if you know sooner, please notify us ASAP so that someone from the Waitlist can fill your spot.   Refunds, in the form of credit, will not be issued unless the Community Services Department is able to fill your spot from the Waitlist.


Cancellation Due to Injury/Medical Reason


In the event of an injury or medical related concern, a full refund, less the $16 cancellation fee, will be issued, provided a doctor’s note is provided to the Manager of the Community Services Department.  The refund will be in the form of a credit to the patron’s account with the City of Sierra Madre, good for one year from the date of cancellation, or a refund by check upon the submission of a written request to the Manager of the Department.  The written request must be made within ten (10) working days of the event which the patron could not attend for medical reasons. 

  REGISTRATION
